APERTURE SANS
The term aperture has several multidisciplinary uses. In typography, Monotype defines the aperture as “[t]he partially enclosed, somewhat rounded negative space in some characters such as ‘n’, ‘c’, ‘s’…the opening to the counter space.” Put simply, an aperture is a hole or gap. Aperture Sans commits to the structures of type design while conceding to the transitional role that letterforms continuously fill.
Aperture Sans is a typeface designed to function as body text for primarily print media. While Aperture Sans is a versatile typeface that can function in a variety of contexts, it was created specifically to pair with the Viviano type family. The high x-height, narrow width, and clear geometry of Aperture Sans makes it a font built for clarity and intention.
